Your children’s skills and abilities will be their most valuable asset throughout their lives. Skills are behaviors that we can learn and improve through practice. Every day, students are learning and practicing skills as they also increase their knowledge in the subjects they study. Abilities are closely related to skills – they are natural talents. We tend to think of singing as ability because people are born with good voices and typing as a skill because it can be learned. Some of our strongest skills, however, are really well developed (practiced) talents.

Every Student is an individual and different from all others. The way your child learns best depends on many factors: Age, Learning style and personality. Besides these concentration and motivation are also very important factors that plays a significant role in skills development of every student.

CITOWLS basically works on to understand how your child likes to learn best. Which are the child’s dominant senses? Do they like pictures and reading? We basically works on those methods which can encourage your child to follow their own interest and personal likes, so that learning becomes a fun and stress-free for them. From about two until seven years old the child starts to develop the ability to reason and think, but is still self-centered.

After the age of about seven a student usually becomes less self-centered and can look outside themselves. By the age of 12 most student can reason and test out their ideas about the world. Because CITOWLS believe that interest and motivation often allows student to develop their skills.

A skill is the learned ability to carry out pre-determined results often with the minimum outlay of time, energy, or both. In other words the abilities that one possesses. Skills can often be divided into domain-general and domain-specific skills. For example, in the domain of work, some general skills would include time management, teamwork and leadership, self motivation , whereas domain-specific skills would be useful only for a certain job.
